All parents know the incredible feeling of relief that bedtime brings. You feel the need to have some time for yourself or your partner, some quiet time after whatever the day has thrown at you, even if was the most normal of days. But tucked in with this feeling of relief is a vague sense of apprehension.

This ‘me-time’ is precious because you know you’ve got to do it – all the exhausting, wonderful business of being a mother – again the next day. Being a mother can be stressful and wonderful all at the same time. What is it that you most look forward to when the kids have gone to sleep?
